September is Happy Cat Month!

Did you know that September is Happy Cat Month? We're always on the hunt to keep our kitties entertained and so I thought I'd share some of our favourite cat enrichment items as I'm sure there are some other cat-fanatics out there. Our two kitties (that's Bob in the photo) are indoor cats and so it's really important that we make sure they have a few items around to keep their brains active.

I'll link to the items on Amazon, but I'm not affiliated and I'm sure you can get them in lots of different pet shops!

Tiny Treasures - The Snowglobes Edition

Have I mentioned how much I love tiny things? Because I do. Really.

If something comes in miniature form I have a strong desire to own it (and please, don't get me started on miniature pigs)!

I was very happy when Nick met me after work this week with a little box of cuteness up his sleeve - miniature snowglobes! Here they are in their box...

And out of box...

I love snowglobes and these are no exception - a lil bit cheesy but all kinds of awesome! These are made all the more amazing by the fact they contain a miniature Eiffel Tower, Big Ben and Statue of Liberty with every so pretty gold glitter sparkling around them

Oh, and did I mention that they're tiny? Here's my little mischief of a cat proving that fact...

If you'd like to own your own mini vintage city snowglobes you can get them from Paperchase.

Bye for now!

#BEDM - Weekend Morning Routine

I've been musing on today's 'Blog Every Day in May' prompt as I've gone about my business on this most lovely of Saturdays and have come to the earth shattering conclusion that I have literally no routine.

I would love to be able to say that my weekend routine is to glide out of bed, go for an early morning run, prepare a delicious breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and then undertake a whole range of super productive activities.

In reality, by the time the weekend rolls around I'm ready to follow the life lesson my cats seem to be trying to teach me on a daily basis and relax (the picture above is them demonstrating to me the 'I've found an amazing sunbeam' relaxation position...I tried it once, it's awesome). Relaxation with me can take many forms (today it was getting my hair cut and wandering around a lot of shops without buying a single thing)! Some weekends I go out for long walks, catch up with loved ones, hide under a blanket binge-watching a TV show and I especially love to go trawling around charity shops for any little vintage treasures.

Now I'm wondering if I should have a routine - maybe I would get more done (note to self - this might not just apply at the weekend)!

Do you have a lot of routines? Maybe I could learn a thing or two from you if you do!

Bye for now

TFI Friday

It's Friday lovely people!

I've had a really lovely week as I've been on leave from work and have used it to recharge and re-organise (my house was a mess!). I still have one room left to tackle. Sadly it's the worst room - the spare room aka the 'I don't know where this random object should live and I'll therefore put it there' room.

It's also the home of my craft supplies *cue dramatic music*.

Anyway - that one tiny job aside, I feel like I've achieved a lot and feel rested. Here are a few of my favourite things from this week...

Mumford & Sons new video for 'Hopeless Wanderer' which I think I've watched on a daily basis for about 2 weeks! When you take my favourite band and then add some of my favourite comedic actors (Jason Sudekis <3) you get a video which brings the biggest smile to my face each and every time.

Bumblebees! They seem to everywhere at the moment and I love watching them fly from flower to flower with their adorable fuzziness. The only problem is that my phone seems to be getting filled with photos of them on flowers as I can't resist a quick snap when I see one (like this one...)!

I've finished watching my way through 'Orange is the New Black' - a Netflix original series, and really enjoyed (almost) every minute - great characters and acting, and I'm really interested to read the memoirs of the woman the show is based on (although appreciate the show has been dramatised!)

And last (but by no means least) I've loved spending some quiet time with these two...after observing their daily routines of sleeping, eating and playing I think that the life of a cat would suit be just fine (apart from the washing...ugh)...

Oh..and I've been loving playing around with the Beautiful Mess photo app - the little doodles are too cute.

Hope you had a good week and a lovely weekend ahead.

Big day for the little man

So Bob the cat is also known as Little Man. I'm not sure where it came from but it just suits him. As does Bobert, Squig and any number of other names he gets called on a daily basis. I'm sure other pet owners do this...right?

Anyway, today we bought Bob a new addition for his wardrobe and I had to post a pic because he just looks so damn gorgeous in his new scarf.

They had matching leg warmers. I managed to resist, but for how long?
