I'm back! Phew!
And even better...I'm back with a free cross stitch pattern for the Whovians amongst you. Our beloved Doctor was back on Saturday...complete with his new assistant Clara and a rather spiffy new outfit. To celebrate his return you can now stitch him on pretty much anything you desire (a Doctor Who tea towel?...yes please).
The important question is...which outfit do you prefer?
Follow the link here for the downloadable pattern and as always, I'd love to see your finished pieces. I'm stitching these little chaps at the moment and will post as soon as they're finished.

Collection Crush - Budgerigaga
Every now and then Paperchase release a range that makes my heart leap for joy and my wallet scream in pain. Budgerigaga is one of those ranges. As a general rule I love things with Budgies on...I put it down to my mum's vintage tin with a budgie on top that she used to store her hankie collection. I'm struggling to pick which items I need the most from this range. It might be a sign that I need more budgies in my life.

Motif Monday Round-Up
From next week I plan to get back to posting weekly free cross stitch motifs. They're so much fun to do...and even more fun to see in other people's projects. Here's a round up of my favourite motifs so far...
For the Doctor Who fans (me!) some Daleks to bring terror to your very soul.
Oh my glob! It's Finn and Lumpy Space Princess from Adventure Time... Algebraic!
And my most favourite of all...Mr Distinguished, who is making my wall look ever-so-classy as I type.
If you have any motif requests please comment/ get in touch...I love a challenge!
The disapproving meme guy...I can't believe I haven't stitched this up yet! My wall can't judge anyone without it.

Smelling the flowers...
So where did January just go? Seriously. I remember as a child hearing my mum talk about how time seemed to go faster as she got older, and not really understanding the concept.
That has absolutely changed. The speed at which time seems to fly by actually frightens me occasionally. The skill I need to learn is to slow down, smell those flowers along the way.
So, what exciting things has January brought my way? Well, I've started teaching at the College where I work, which is proving to be an amazing, and time consuming, venture in equal measures. I'm so happy I've taken the step though, and I'm excited to find out where it leads.
I'm also well and truly addicted to crochet. Seriously, it's at addiction level. It has to be the single most relaxing craft I've found so far. Expect a lot more crochet around these here parts.
Oh, and there's a new man in my life. Sure, he has some issues, but damn he's entertaining....
Californication is one of those shows where I can't understand how it's taken me so long to find it. I'm a long-time David Duchovny fan from my X-files geek days, but somehow this show has passed me by. Until now. Which is kind of awesome because I totally need its light relief at the moment, and Hank Moody's escapades sure are entertaining.
The hardest part is forcing myself to limit it to one episode a day on Netflix ;)
I also (finally!) have an office space at home, which is going to make blogging so much easier! No photos yet, as it is currently surrounded by box upon box of craft supplies (I need to do some serious stash busting), but soon my friends, soon.
Take care for now my lovelies...I'm off to do some catching up on a few of my favourite blogs.

The inevitable resolutions post...
| Adorable New Year's Resolution print by HappyTown USA on Etsy |
This should definitely be everyone's number one resolution.
So here it is, my inevitable list if resolutions to see me into 2013. I say inevitable because I've made a list for so many years now it's pretty much a tradition. One of the first lists I can remember was when I was thirteen and it was contained within the first page of my brand new diary (which I believe had a cute fluffy kitten on the front and a not-so-sturdy padlock to keep parental eyes out on the side). I'd love to find that list again and see what 13 year old me was resolving to do...probably kiss whatever boy I had a crush on at the time and keep on top of my homework.
Although life is a bit (lot!) more complicated now I've decided to keep my resolutions simple. I'm really looking forward to 2013 and these resolutions all link into the places I want to focus on the most.
1. Spend more time with loved ones - can you believe I even need to have this as a resolution? It should just be a natural part of life, but I tend to let other pressures get in the way. I don't intend to make that mistake any more :)
2. My project 52 number 1 - Finish crafting one item for my home every week (more on this in a later post)
3. Stick to a training regime for the 25k charity walk I've signed up for in May (what the hell was I thinking?)
4. Meditate at least once a day - I think this may be an essential part to all my resolutions as it really helps me to clear my head and focus.
5. Project 52 number 2 - do one DIY project in my home every week (however small!)
6. Read at least one book a month and track what I read through Goodreads (I really want to find my inner bookworm again...I'm not sure where she disappeared to but I miss her!)
7. Spend more time blogging, and less being sucked into the time chasm aka 'the Internet'. I genuinely love writing this blog and love the different crafty and creative people I've met online, so I want to focus more time on that side of online life, and less on the rabbit warrens I wander down which eat time and give nothing in return (online gossip sites, wiki and unfriendly forums...I'm looking at you!)
That's my list for 2013...I'd love to hear yours!

Happy New Year!
![]() |
| Happy New Year Banner by JaneeLookerse on Etsy |
I'll be back with my resolutions tomorrow, and I'm spending some quiet time thinking about my little space in the blogverse and what I want to do with it (something creative I hope!).
So for now, I hope that the end of 2012 treats you nicely and that 2013 brings happiness and adventure (or calm if its more appropriate!) your way.

Merry Christmas!
| Card by thewheatfield on Etsy |
Wishing all the lovely people in the blog-verse a very Happy Christmas, wherever you are and whatever your beliefs I hope it's a time that brings lots of peace and happiness your way.
I feel like I ned to apologise for the echoing silence on my blog in recent months. After the events of 2012 I've taken a massive step back to re-evaluate some things and plan to get back to blogging and creative pursuits very soon, can't wait!
